With so much bad news out there, we’ve made it our mission to spread some GoodNews. How? By providing products which are grown with concern for our health, the environment, harvested with love and processed with kindness!

Goodnews Natural Produce farms chilies, herbs and vegetables on the West Coast of South Africa, about 60Km from Cape Town. We use organic methods to grow most (95%) of our produce and also take care to have minimum impact on our natural surroundings. We process and pack most of our produce at our onsite factory ensuring maximum freshness and great taste.

Organically Grown

We prepare our planting spaces with “green manures”, plants which are beneficial to the health of the soil. We fertilise using organically certified chicken manure pellets and compost from plant wastes.

We practice integrated pest management (IPM) methods for our field crops – minimizing habitats for pests, planting pest repelling plants such as marigolds, chrysanthemums, mint in between our crops and of course allowing our chickens to routinely inspect the plots and eat any bugs they may find. We also make a rather potent chili-based pest repellent from waste chilies which keeps most bad bugs away from the plants.

We don’t use ANY herbicides and prefer to remove weeds manually, planting cover-crops or by deploying mulching material which prevents weed growth.
